LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A teenager has died and a suspect is in custody after a shooting on Lansing’s south side Tuesday afternoon.

There was a large police presence near Georgetown Boulevard and Edgewood as the Lansing Police and Fire departments were called around 2:30 p.m. to the Arbors at Georgetown apartment complex.

Lansing police officials say responding officers found an 18-year-old man unresponsive at the scene. Life-saving measures performed by LFD personnel were unsuccessful.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Authorities have not released any information about what led to the shooting.

Officials are asking anyone who knows something about the shooting to call the Lansing Police Department at 517-483-4600.
