BOSTON —

A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot in the face in Dorchester, police said.

The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. Tuesday at 77 Bowdoin Ave. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say homicide is responding to the scene, which is still active.

Police have made no arrests yet in the shooting.
