WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Coming soon to Northeastern Pennsylvania is the opportunity to become a semi-professional soccer player.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Football Club (NEPA FC) recently announced the formation of their club which aims to give talented athletes a chance to develop their skills locally.

Chris Geiser, co-founder and vice president of the club, is the current head soccer coach at Jim Thorpe Area High School.

Geiser is an Army veteran who spent time teaching the sport while serving. His military background helped him gain the leadership skills he needed to blend his passion for soccer with his life after the Army.
