The high-altitude orchards of Kinnaur have once again painted a picture of abundance as the district concludes its 2025 apple season with a total dispatch of 33,53,089 boxes to markets across India. Known for producing some of the finest apples in the world, the region has reaffirmed its premium standing despite a marginal dip from last year’s bumper yield.

According to data from the Horticulture Department, apples from Kinnaur — famed for their natural sweetness, crisp texture, and deep red hue — were transported through 12,671 vehicles to 11 major wholesale markets, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pinjore, Solan, Shimla, Ratanpur, Bithal, Matiyana, Sainj, and Khegsu.
