Lou was born November 1, 1937 in Chicago, the son of James and Hazel (Kulp) Martin. He graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago in 1955. He attended Wabash College as an Undergraduate Student and continued his education at Purdue University receiving a Master of Science Degree. Lou served as the Director of the Delta County Mental Health (Pathways) for many years. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of

He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Richard and Sylvia Ninnis; his own parents; his brothers Hugh Martin and James Martin Jr (Susan) and the family’s treasured dog, Sammy Jo.
