HOLLYWOOD – California Highway Patrol officers restricted traffic on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in Hollywood for about two hours while they investigated the death of a person found in lanes, authorities said Wednesday.

The body was reported at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday on the northbound Hollywood Freeway just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

The gender, age and name of the deceased person were not available.

Video from the scene showed a covered body in the far right lane.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 9:50 p.m. shutting down lanes 2, 3 and 4 of the northbound Hollywood Freeway around Santa Monica Boulevard.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
