A Cuban Air Force pilot allegedly linked to the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue plane shoot-down has been indicted for immigration fraud, authorities said.

Luis Raul Gonzalez-Pardo Rodriguez, 64, is facing charges of fraud and misuse of visa, permits, and other documents, and making a false statement to a federal agency, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida said in a news release Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Gonzalez-Pardo Rodriguez submitted an application regarding permanent residence to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
