AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Four years after Portia Nesbitt disappeared, Burke County investigators are ramping up efforts to find out what happened to the mother of two who was reported missing in July 2021.
Nesbitt’s sister, Donna Tremble, filed a missing person’s report after a year passed without hearing from her, which was unusual behavior.
“During the holidays, especially, she’d keep in touch, birthdays, holidays, come about, she loved to reach out, and time passed, and no one heard from her,” Tremble said. “That wasn’t like her.”
Investigators began questioning Nesbitt’s boyfriend, Chadwick Washington, with whom she was living in Girard at the time of her disappearance.
Washington told investigators he took Nesbitt back to Dublin, Georgia, but her belongings remained at the house
