AUSTIN, Texas — A Lockhart man is facing numerous charges after Kyle police found narcotics and a stolen handgun while investigating a suspicious vehicle on Wednesday morning.
According to the Kyle Police Department, officers pulled over a vehicle belonging to 42-year-old Joshua Gillum in the 20000 block of Interstate 35 at around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
While investigating the vehicle, officers discovered a stolen handgun and a large amount of a crystalline substance that resembled methamphetamine. They also discovered other items – including a digital scale, baggies and pipes – consistent with drug deals.
Gillum allegedly attempted to flee during questioning, but was subsequently caught and arrested. He is charged with:
Theft of a firearm
Manufacture and delivery of a controlled sub
