High school athletes in the Montgomery area are putting ink to paper, cementing the next step in their athletic careers.

Most athletes will sign starting this week, as the NCAA signing day period opened Wednesday, Nov. 12, for all Division I and II sports aside from football. The early signing period for Division I football opens Dec. 3, while the regular period for Division I and II football begins Feb. 4. Division I basketball coincides with the Nov. 12 date, the regular signing period opens April 15.

Students, coaches and parents packed the gymnasiums of Prattville and Trinity Presbyterian High Schools to witness seven Montgomery area athletes sign their official letters of intent to play collegiate baseball and softball.
