The Fremantle Library is planning to extend its reach into the community by offering a mobile service.
A bi-annual report scheduled to be presented to the City of Fremantle council on November 12 says planning is under way for a pilot mobile library service, with Sullivan Hall being considered as the first site.
The plan would be for staff to use the library van to take books and resources across the city every month, enabling residents to join and borrow and reserve items without visiting the main library.
If it goes ahead, the mobile library will join a mobile toy library, which was relaunched last month after a trial in July with a delivery to the Fremantle Women’s Health Centre.
