LAS VEGAS — Super agent Scott Boras thinks the Red Sox are in a strong position to spend money this offseason because they have locked up several young players to team-friendly long-term extensions.

“They’ve got a lot of young players that have made commitments that are very advantageous to the team,” Boras said Wednesday at the GM Meetings here at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas . “And so they’re in a position to be very aggressive in the free agent market because of the underpinnings of their work earlier in the year with their younger players. So I fully expect that they have a strong go-sign to what they’re going to do in 2026.”
