The Mega Millions jackpot is approaching $1 billion ahead of its scheduled drawing on Friday night.

As the eighth largest prize in Mega Millions history, the jackpot has rolled to an estimated $965 million as of Wednesday night. It has an estimated $445.3 million cash option.

The drawing on Friday night will be the game’s 40th since the jackpot was last won in June. At the time, it was worth $348 million and the winning ticket was sold in Virginia.

This $965 million jackpot is the game’s largest since December 2024, when a $1.269 billion jackpot was won on a ticket sold in California.

The drawing for the $843 million prize will be held at 11 p.m. on Nov. 7. Players can buy tickets at Massachusetts State Lottery retailers across the state until 10:45 p.m. on Friday.
