LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Thursday night, the Little Rock School District Board is set to vote on a proposal to create a new “Principal-in-Residence” position at Little Rock Central High School.
It's a move that has prompted questions from community members since longtime Principal Nancy Rousseau has not announced any plans to retire.
According to the district’s agenda , the new position was requested to help address supervision needs following the opening of Central’s new science building. The role would also serve as part of a structured leadership transition plan to prepare for the school’s future.
In a statement, Little Rock School District (LRSD) Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright said the decision comes after “many thoughtful conversations and careful deliberation.”
