EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A pair of East Lansing High School athletes signed to continue their athletic and academic careers down the street at Michigan State University at a signing ceremony in East Lansing’s cafeteria on Wednesday.

Paul VanDam, a six-foot-five pitcher, signed to play baseball for the Spartans. VanDam will play for the Trojans in the spring before graduating and heading to Michigan State in the fall of 2026.

“I’ve lived here my whole life; I love everything about Michigan State,” VanDam said. “It’s always been in the back of my mind that if they [Michigan State] were to give me an opportunity, I was going to take it. So, I’m really grateful for this opportunity, and I’m just really excited to get to work with the Spartans.”
