LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A new Michigan State University study is looking at ways artificial intelligence can help make online health information easier to understand.
According to the study, “almost 80% of the US adult population seeks online health information.” MSU professor and researcher Anjana Susarla says finding useful information can be challenging.
“We are turning to all these platforms -- TikTok, YouTube, etc., and now we’re also turning to some of the chatbots, like ChatGPT,” Susarla said. “Searching for useful information is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
Her team found when people go online, they seek health-related videos that are understandable, with less medical jargon.
