FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - An Indiana-based nonprofit health plan that provides Medicaid coverage shared Wednesday that the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration has terminated its Medicaid contract.
MDwise’s Medicaid contract will terminate on Dec. 31.
The nonprofit, which has served Indiana’s Medicaid program for more than thirty years, says the termination will “destroy MDwise’s business, disrupt the care and coverage to more than 302,000 Hoosiers and end the employment and livelihood of hundreds of dedicated employees.”
In August, FSSA issued a notice of intent to terminate after alleging that MDwise breached its contract and increased costs. The nonprofit says the allegations were “non-substantive or technical in nature” and that none of the allegations were about its “a
