NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - U.S. Representative Andy Ogles is renewing his call for the National Guard to be deployed in Nashville after a convicted sex offender was accused of following and attacking a woman after a concert earlier this month.
Police said that 29-year-old Joequarius Williams is facing a charge of attempted murder and robbery for the attack at a Germantown apartment building.
Williams reportedly followed the victim home as she walked from Sabrina Carpenter’s concert at Bridgestone Arena on November 5.
According to police, Williams strangled the victim and threatened to sexually assault her during the attack.
Williams was later arrested for the attack and is facing multiple charges.
