Brian Jordan Alvarez ‘s comedy series English Teacher has been canceled by FX after two seasons.

While the first season aired weekly back in 2024, FX dumped all of the season two episodes on Hulu on the premiere date in September 2025.

Season one was a critical success and drew a lot of fans, but months after the show aired, Brian faced allegations of sexual assault by a former co-star . He claimed the relationship with “entirely consensual.”

English Teacher was still renewed for a second season less than two months later, but the show wasn’t able to pick up the same momentum when season two premiered.

Deadline reports that FX “opted not to proceed with a third season.” No other details about why the show was canceled are known as of this time.
