GREENSBORO, N.C. — A massive mixed-use development near Friendly Center in Greensboro passed one of its final hurdles Tuesday as city council members unanimously approved a rezoning quest for the proposed space.
The new site at the corner of Hobbs Road and West Friendly Avenue in Greensboro will be developed by The Carroll Companies, which wants to build homes, a boutique hotel, stores and more at the location.
Roy Carroll told WFMY News 2 the boutique hotel planned at the site will likely include just 70-80 rooms, all upscale suites, and that the project has already drawn interest from high-end restaurants and retailers.
