Chaos in the skies due to the government shutdown has many Boston University students rethinking their holiday travel plans.

"I was gonna take a flight originally but then my mom called me, with everything that was happening, and said just cancel it and take the train," said Trisha Natarajan, a BU student who is traveling to New Jersey for Thanksgiving.

Some are even scrapping going home for Thanksgiving altogether because of the uncertainty.

"We didn't know how long the delay was gonna be," said Lorenza Montenegro, a student who is waiting until Christmas to travel back home. "If I planned to leave on 'X' date, was I actually going to leave on that date or was it gonna be much more pushed back?"
