DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. - A former Duplin County Animal Services employee is alleging animal abuse and improper euthanization procedures at the shelter after getting fired last week.
Hope Tucker, who was terminated November 7th for using racial slurs, claims the shelter is feeding hard food to dogs with bad teeth, not letting them go outside, and euthanizing animals when it isn’t necessary.
Tucker said dogs are being euthanized without following the correct procedures.
“We’ve had two dogs at the shelter I know of that were euthanized under false pretenses,” she said. “They did not get their 72 hours in the public eye, so that they could be adopted properly.”
