PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The remaining 6 suspects accused in Preston Lord’s murder appeared in court Wednesday. At the trial, the state brought up how this day was the deadline for severance motion, or separate trials for the suspects.

“My personal opinion is it’s very unlikely they would sever a trial where all of the evidence overlaps,” said Criminal defense lawyer David Black. Arizona’s family spoke with Black about the difference between having one big trial and separate ones. Black said calling the same witnesses to six separate trials and the increase costs make it unlikely the court will grant the defendants’ request.
