After 77 years in business, Snyder Jewelers in Longmont is about to close its doors as owner Linda Snyder Crockett retires.

The store at 2201 Ken Pratt Blvd. will hold closeout sales Thursday through Sunday.

Hobart and John Snyder opened the store on Longmont’s Main Street in 1948. It was moved to Francis Street in 1988 and then to its current location in 2001. For the store’s 50th anniversary in 1998, it displayed the “Atocha exhibit,” items recovered from a sunken Spanish galleon.

Snyder Crockett, who began working at her family’s store in 1971, was among the Boulder County Business Report’s 2010 Remarkable Women honorees, and in 2015 was inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame.
