WASHIINGTON, D.C. — The United States House of Representatives has voted to re-open the government after the longest shutdown in the nation’s history.
The House voted 222-209 on a funding package Wednesday night, which would re-open the government. The bill passed through the Senate on Monday.
Rep. Riley Moore (WV-2), who voted yes Wednesday, says the last month and a half was avoidable.
“It was a pathetic political stunt that came at the expense of the livelihoods of Americans,” Moore wrote on X.
Rep. Carol Miller (WV-1), who was also a “yes” vote, also took to X after the vote. She says U.S. citizens were done wrong.
