Local organizations working on health outcomes will receive substantially less grant funding for 2026 than this year, a nearly 75% drop that reflects state legislators' cuts to the Health First Indiana program.

The Allen County Department of Health has awarded $840,000 to 13 organizations for work on core public health services in 2026, it announced Wednesday. About a year ago, the department gave 48 Health First Allen County grants, totaling $2.9 million. The program awards grants to organizations working on core public health services.
