TROY, AL (GoMocs.com) - The Chattanooga women’s basketball team showed grit in the opening and closing frames but came up short in a 73–56 loss to Troy Wednesday night at Trojan Arena.

Chattanooga (2–2) came out firing in the first quarter, knocking down four three-pointers and shooting 43.8% from the field to grab a 20–18 lead after 10 minutes. The Mocs’ bench contributed nine points in the opening period, and the defense limited Troy to just two points off turnovers.

After a sluggish middle stretch where UTC managed only 12 points combined in the second and third quarters, the Mocs roared back in the fourth.
