ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Survivors of child sexual abuse and assault in Elkhart County can now get much needed specialized medical care without leaving the community.

Maple City Health Care Center and Child and Parent Services (CAPS) have partnered to bring Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services to the county.

Children who experience sexual abuse or assault who need a medical forensic exam had to travel to medical systems outside of Elkhart County, putting essential care out of reach for many.
