POTTERVILLE, Mich. (WILX) - The Potterville Board of Education held a special meeting Wednesday night to review how the district responds to safety threats, following a recent incident that raised concerns among parents and staff.
The meeting stemmed from a reported threat at Potterville Middle School on Nov. 7, which led to questions about how quickly the district’s threat assessment process was carried out. Officials have not released the specifics of the threat.
Parents filled the media center, voicing frustration over what they called delays and gaps in communication.
“It does not take 35 minutes if there’s a threat,” one parent said during public comment. " If that kid would have actually brought let’s say a knife or gun, whatever it was, what’s going to happen in 35 minutes?"
