WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WKOW) -- The bill to end the government shutdown includes a ban on hemp-based THC products.
Those products, like drinks and gummies, were legalized in the 2018 Farm Bill. Since then, they've grown in popularity, and are now sold across Wisconsin.
Erin Kelly, the owner of Kelly's Greens in Wauwatosa, told WISN 12 News the ban will kill her business.
"How do you put the toothpaste back in the tube? People in Wisconsin have spoken, and they want safe, legal, third-party tested cannabis options made right here in Wisconsin and that's what we do here, and there's nothing wrong with it," Kelly said.
Kelly said she'll work with lawmakers to try to reverse the ban. Otherwise, it'll go into effect in one year.
