BEAVER DAM, Wis. (WKOW) -- Meta says it is building a billion-dollar data center in Beaver Dam.
The 700,000 square foot facility will be in Alliant Energy's Commerce Park on the north side of town.
The AI-optimized data center is expected to be up and running in 2027.
The center will support around 100 jobs.
Meta says the site's electricity use will be matched with 100% renewable energy and the company will restore all of the water the data center uses. The facility will also use dry cooling, so there won't be any water demands once it's running.
Meta says it will also work with Ducks Unlimited to restore 570 acres of wetland and prairie around the site.
