A day after Panjab University (PU) student representatives submitted a charter of demands, Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig Wednesday met members of the PU Bachao Morcha, following which the university announced the formation of a six-member committee to address the ongoing agitation.

The meeting, held in the V-C’s office, saw student leaders press for written assurances on four key issues: withdrawal of FIRs against protesting students, a freeze on major administrative decisions until the Senate is reconstituted, rollback of new SOPs and the vetting panel, and ensuring reservation compliance in faculty recruitment.
