Republican Rep. Thomas Massie's charge to release the Epstein files is making significant movement.
A discharge petition spearheaded by Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-California, secured its 218th signature on Nov. 12, a crucial step to force a House floor vote on a bill that would compel the U.S. Department of Justice to release all files in its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The petition required 218 signatures to move forward over the objection of House Republican leadership, who typically decide what bills get voted on on the House floor.
Rep. Adelita Grijalva, D-Arizona, was the final signature needed. She previously vowed to sign the petition if she won a special election for Arizona's 7th Congressional District.
