Police in Dowa District have arrested two men, Edwell Tembo (34) and Arnold Lackson (23), on suspicion of murdering Felix Paul.
Dowa Police spokesperson Alice Sitima said police believe the two suspects killed the victim in his cassava garden, where he had gone at the time.
According to Sitima, during police questioning, Lackson revealed that there had been a long-standing dispute between the victim and Tembo. Tembo allegedly promised Lackson K250,000 to “deal with” the matter.
The incident came to light when members of the public, together with the police, discovered the victim’s body buried in the garden.
