Victoria’s unemployment rate has remained the worst in the nation, with new figures showing there are now 187,000 Victorians out of work.
The latest ABS statistics, released on Thursday, show Victoria’s unemployment rate at 4.7 per cent, with the Australia-wide rate remaining steady at 4.4 per cent.
Tasmania had the lowest unemployment rate at 4 per cent, with Queensland and WA both sitting at 4.2 per cent, NSW and the ACT on 4.3 per cent, South Australia on 4.5 per cent and the Northern Territory on 4.6 per cent.
The new figures come just days after the Business Council of Australia ranked Victoria the worst place to do business in Australia .
