U.S. Rep. Jill Tokuda continues to be outmatched as a representative of the people. On Tuesday, she explained why she voted against ending the more than 40-day government shutdown.
She explained the Senate deal did not include extending the temporary Affordable Care Act subsidies, which would hurt the American people. How is it she doesn’t realize the shutdown is already hurting the exact same Americans?
Assuming she is on the right side of this issue, the GOP isn’t going to change. Leaders recognize this, change tactics and try again without hurting those they are trying to help.
Rep. Tokuda also said “we are going to continue to fight like hell” for these subsidies. That is the exact same wording Donald Trump used on Jan. 6. Perhaps this is another case where what’s good for the goose
