Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Kushadhwaja Sahu, the former Secretary-cum-Chief Executive of the Pandamunda Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) under Patnagarh Block in Bolangir district, on charges of financial fraud and embezzlement of society funds.

According to an official press release, the Vigilance investigation revealed that Sahu had misappropriated government funds amounting to ₹8,34,489 through deliberate manipulation of official records.

Investigators found that the accused failed to carry forward the closing balance of the financial year 2017–18 into the opening balance of 2018–19, thereby creating scope to siphon off the difference. The act was described as a “calculated misappropriation” in the official statement.
