Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has been appointed as assistant coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Watson, who was previously associated in a similar role with Delhi Capitals under Ricky Ponting, returns to a coaching gig in the IPL after three years.
A veteran of 59 Tests, 190 ODIs, and 58 T20Is, amassing over 10,000 international runs and taking more than 280 wickets across formats, the Queenslander will work with Abhishek Nayar, who was recently appointed as the head coach of the three-time former champions.
