CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Beloved Cleveland Browns legendary quarterback Bernie Kosar will undergo his fourth surgery since this weekend Thursday morning.

19 News has learned Thursday’s surgery is necessary, because bleeding started overnight.

Kosar’s last surgery was Wednesday morning.

In summer 2024, Kosar was diagnosed with liver failure and Parkinson’s disease and currently needs a liver transplant.

“I could really use your love, support and actual prayers,” Kosar said in a post Wednesday morning from his hospital bed.

In true Kosar fashion, the rest of his message is about helping those he says are in worse shape than he is, through his Renewing Athletes Lives program .
