CBSE has issued an important advisory to all its schools, highlighting that counterfeit and low-quality NCERT textbooks are being sold widely in the market. These books are available at low prices but contain printing errors and content inaccuracies, which could negatively impact children’s studies. The board has urged schools to advise parents and students to purchase only genuine textbooks. The official notice is available on cbse.gov.in.
“It has come to the notice of the Board that unauthorised book sellers are supplying counterfeit/fake versions of NCERT textbooks at discounted prices. These fake textbooks are of inferior quality and often contain printing and content errors, which may adversely affect the learning experience of students," states the official notice.
