ANN ARBOR — For the second year in a row, Michigan will face Northwestern late in the season after a bye week. That’s about where the similarities end as far as Michigan coach Sherrone Moore is concerned.
Unlike last year, No. 18 Michigan is still in the hunt for a Big Ten title and playoff appearance.
“I felt really proud of the team coming off that bye week last year because they played at a really high level throughout the rest of the year,” Moore said. “But it’s different now. We’re playing for a lot more.”
Michigan dominated last year’s game against Northwestern 50-6 in Ann Arbor, has won eight straight in the series and holds a 60-15-2 advantage all-time. The Wildcats’ last win against Michigan was in 2008; their last victory in the state of Illinois was in 2000.
