U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) thinks it’s time for Republicans to get rid of the filibuster to pass President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Moore is echoing recent statements by U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) who has been openly calling for his GOP colleagues in the Senate to abolish the rule.
On Wednesday night, with U.S. House approval and President Trump’s signature, the federal government reopened after the longest government shutdown in history.
Tuberville, who is not running for another term in the Senate so he can run for Alabama Governor, argued this week that if they don’t nuke the filibuster, there could be even longer shutdowns in the near future.
