The White House summoned a key Republican lawmaker to the Situation Room on Wednesday for a meeting over the effort to release files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Officials met in the Situation Room with Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, one of the Republicans who has signed on to an effort to force a vote on releasing all of the Epstein files. That effort is moving forward after a newly elected Democrat was seated in the House of Representatives and also signed on to the effort, providing the final signature needed, according to CNN .

The White House has been pressuring lawmakers against further Epstein disclosures over concerns the files could prove problematic for President Donald Trump.
