WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Fewer newly hired teachers are sticking around Ann Arbor-area schools than the statewide average, according to the latest retention data .

The Michigan Department of Education released updated numbers for school workers as of the 2024-25 school year in late October, including the rate of teachers who were hired five years prior and have remained on staff year over year coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
