ALPENA — Fire crews extinguished a garage fire Thursday morning on Beebe Street and kept the damage contained to the area where repairs were being done on a motorcycle.
Per a Nov. 13 news release, the Alpena City Fire Department was called to 208 Beebe St. at 8:36 a.m. When crews arrived, they reported smoke and flames visible from inside a detached garage.
Firefighters made a quick entry and put out the fire, confining it to its original point of origin.
Crews stayed on scene for less than an hour to check for extension and overhaul the area. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The department responded with seven on-duty personnel, along with the chief and deputy chief. Four off-duty personnel were called in to staff the station. The Alpena P
