Health Canada has announced a recall of NordicTrack rowing machines due to a potential fire hazard. The recall affects specific models identified by the numbers NTRW19147.0, NTRW19147.1, NTRW19147.2, and NTRW19147.3. The agency issued the recall notice on Wednesday, warning users that the screen console on these machines can overheat and ignite, creating a fire risk.

Approximately 700 units of the affected rowing machines were sold in Canada between November 2018 and April 2022. As of November 5, 2025, there have been no reported incidents or injuries related to these machines in Canada. However, in the United States, the company has received eight reports of incidents, including two fires and six cases of smoking or melting, although no injuries have been reported.

Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using and unplug the recalled rowing machines. Users should contact iFIT, the manufacturer, for a free home repair, which includes a replacement screen console installed by an authorized technician.

To determine if their machine is affected, consumers can check the model number located on a decal attached to the base of the rower. The recalled machines are available in black, gray, and white, with "NordicTrack" printed in black on the front legs and "RW900" printed in white on the back legs. For assistance, consumers can reach iFIT at 833-680-4348 or through the company’s website.
