Local Kelly Platte’s last day as director of the Denver Public Library was Oct. 30, after 18 years of her dream job.
“I like working with people and it was kind of a dream job for me,” Platte said. “I’ll really miss the people most of all and seeing everybody that comes in every day and visiting with them.”
On Oct. 28, the library’s board of trustees threw an open house party for her with coffee and cookies, giving community members a chance to talk with Platte and celebrate her years at the library.
“I just love the community, and I also liked the program planning aspect of it,” she explained. “That was my favorite thing to do, bringing things to the community and partnering with some of the organizations that we have here in town to do different activities and programs and things. It
