Conservative anti-Trump attorney George Conway struck a nerve with President Donald Trump's United States Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche with a post on social media app X. And the two are now arguing in public.
In the wake of the explosive email revelations of late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, Conway posted on X "an important side note about today's Epstein/Trump revelations."
"They show that Todd Blanche's questioning of Ghislaine Maxwell was either (a) completely incompetent; or (b) intentionally crafted not to elicit facts incriminating Trump. Either way, he is not fit to serve as Deputy Attorney General of the United States," Conway wrote.
Blanche met with Epstein co-conspirator and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell twice in July 2025 to gather information for the Department of Justice's review of the Epstein case. The interviews took place in Maxwell's low-security Tallahassee, Florida, prison and resulted in the release of transcripts where Maxwell claimed she did not witness inappropriate behavior by prominent figures such as President Bill Clinton or Trump.
She was then moved to an even lower-security prison camp in Texas known for its dormitory-style housing and cushy confines, something that isn't usually afforded to convicted sex offenders.
Democrats on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, are demanding an investigation into Maxwell's transfer and reports of her receiving preferential treatment and perks there. And reports claim she is preparing to ask Trump to commute her 20-year-sentence.
In response to Conway's post, Blanche shot back on X, saying, "George, you’ve never been confused for a trial lawyer, and these kinds of posts explain why. When I interviewed Maxwell, law enforcement didn’t have the materials Epstein’s estate hid for years and only just provided to Congress. Stop talking. It’s unbecoming."
Former Texas congressional candidate Russell Foster said Blanche was projecting, replying directly to Blanche saying, "So in other words you were and continue to be incompetent! Point made Todd. Congrats on being a gullible pos. With this new info that you say you didn't have, why haven't you moved her back to a more secure prison instead of Club Fed? This scandal gets worse each time you talk."
In his re-post of Blanche's comments, Conway wrote Thursday morning, "I bet he stayed up all night composing this."
