Ryanair has branded the move to digital-only boarding passes a “huge success” after the change launched on Wednesday, November 12.
The budget airline has scrapped all paper boarding passes, which means all passengers need to check-in online and use the airline’s app to generate a digital boarding pass.
The move was met with some criticism, with concerns raised over what would happen if someone lost their device, it ran out of battery or they did not possess a smartphone.
But Ryanair emphasised that as long as passengers had checked-in online before arriving at the airport then they could receive a boarding pass free of charge.
