PELZER, S.C. —
A South Carolina man said he was baffled at first when he realized he had won $200,000 with a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket.
He told lottery officials that he’d always wanted to win a big prize but never expected it to actually happen.
When it did, and the news sank in, he couldn’t contain his joy.
He says he left the Mike & Jack store on Augusta Road in Pelzer in a hurry to go show his family and friends his ticket.
As for his plans for the big prize, he says, “I hit the Lottery with my children, and this win will allow me to help them in life.” He is also giving to an area church.
Two more top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Neon Jackpot game at odds of 1 in 930,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Mike & Jack #2 in Pelzer received a commission of $2,000.
